While we spent most of the day waiting onshore due to damage to the boats (not by us, thank god...) we only sailed three races. The first race against Szymik from Poland was one writen in stone! In the last minute before the starting signal he hit a penalty for a port-starboard situation. After that we managed to sail away from him and build our lead to half the reach to the finish.
The second race was against Stanczyk, number 32 of the July ISAF World Matchrace Rankings. After a free start and in the lead half way the first beat we came back. and finaly in the last beat we did not cover him enough on the starboard side of the beat giving him room to get the inside at the final top mark.
The last race against Hansen from Denmark we led from start to finish, building our lead with every tack we made.
Currently we are ranked 3rd in our poule. We need to be in the top 2 to directly qualify for the quarter finals but top 5 (out of 7) will be good enough to get into the repercharge tomorrow.
